Wedding Band and Live Music in Calpe
A cover band, violinist or saxophonist for a wedding, birthday or corporate event in Calpe, with our own sound, lighting and stage. About an hour’s drive from our base in Alicante.
Looking for a wedding band in Calpe, or live music for a party? Team5 brings a cover band or a soloist together with its own equipment. Calpe is a compact resort town just north of Benidorm, and almost every venue here plays in some way with the view of the Peñón de Ifach rock.
How far is Calpe from Alicante
It is about 65 km, roughly an hour on the AP-7. Calpe is one of our short trips: the drive adds little to the price, there is enough time to set up even if access to the venue is late.
Venues with a view of the Peñón de Ifach
The Ifach rock rises more than three hundred metres straight out of the sea and can be seen from most of the town. The natural park around it is the calling card of Calpe, and that is why there are so many open-air venues, restaurants with terraces and villas built to face this view.
It makes a wonderful picture, but technically it means some specific things:
- Wind: on an open terrace by the sea it blows constantly, so we place the sound with a reserve and secure the structures more firmly;
- Damp: the evening breeze calls for protection of the equipment;
- Sunset: the most beautiful moment of the evening, and the lighting should be planned so that harsh light does not spoil it;
- Neighbours: in dense resort buildings the evening noise rules are observed strictly.
In short, Calpe means open venues with a view of the sea and the rock. It is beautiful but windy, and we choose the kit with that in mind.

Where parties are held in Calpe
- First-line restaurants and hotels, with terraces facing Ifach and the marina;
- Private villas: Calpe is full of them, and a party on your own grounds is a common format;
- Places by the port, where the fishing harbour and the marina have their own restaurants;
- Country fincas a little inland from the coast, towards Benissa and Altea.
The catering companies of the region serve Calpe, Denia, Gandia and Benidorm at once, so the venue is often chosen together with them.
Party at a private villa in Calpe
A villa gives you freedom, but it brings its own checklist:
- Household wiring is usually not enough for a full kit with lighting;
- Villas often stand on slopes with narrow streets where a large van cannot pass;
- In a residential area the programme has to wind down earlier in the evening;
- Garden lighting is built from zero, since nothing is there to use;
- A wind plan on an open terrace is not theory but an everyday reality.
Before you pay a deposit, send the villa’s address or a photo and we will tell you what the evening will need. More in our article on a party at a private villa.
Who can play in Calpe
- Royal Band: a complete set of world hits for the meal and the dancing;
- Rock Beat: rock and pop-rock;
- Violinist or saxophonist, and a violin ceremony by the sea sounds especially fitting;
- Duo or trio for a terrace and a more intimate format;
- Presenter: Ukrainian and Russian, with Spanish if you need it, and no English.
Everything can be arranged with us in English. See live clips on the cover bands page.
Our own sound and lighting
Everything is our own equipment: speakers to fit the place, stage and accent lighting, a stage and screen when required, microphones for the ceremony and the speeches, installation, and an engineer who stays until the end. The details are in the contents of a sound and lighting hire. For open-air work, a violin or sax ceremony on a terrace always gets a sound system, because otherwise the wind swallows the sound.
Best time to celebrate in Calpe
- May to June: ideal for a terrace, with warm weather and long evenings;
- July and August: the resort peak, with venues taken, the town crowded and only an evening programme realistic;
- September to October: our favourite window, with warm sea and thinner crowds;
- November to April: windy and cool by the sea, so an indoor hall is the better choice.
What affects the price in Calpe
A single price per evening does not exist, and whoever gives one without seeing the place will revise the estimate later. The big items are the musicians (one soloist, a small ensemble or the whole band), whether you need only sound or also lighting, a stage and a screen, whether the venue is a closed hall or an open garden, the number of guests, how long the programme runs, and whether the power on site is enough or a generator has to be added. The drive of about an hour adds little. Send the date, the venue and an approximate guest count, and you get a price back the same day. For more on budgets read wedding costs in Spain explained.
Mistakes to avoid in Calpe
- Placing the speakers as for a closed hall on an open terrace, where the breeze never stops;
- Raising the access question late: the place may open an hour before guests, yet a full kit takes hours to rig;
- Having no rain plan, which should be agreed beforehand even in season;
- Paying the venue deposit before the music and the kit have a place in the budget;
- Nobody owning the final sound because the musicians and the speakers come from different firms.
How to book musicians in Calpe
Send a WhatsApp message or call with the date, the location, a guess at the number of guests and the occasion. We reply with a proposed line-up and a price for the kit, bearing in mind that the venue is most likely open-air. If you are still choosing a place, name the options before you pay a deposit: we often know them already, and if not, one call settles it. See also picking an event venue.
Team5 also covers the wedding band side of a celebration as well as corporate events. Close to Calpe we also work in Benidorm and Denia.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to get from Alicante to Calpe?
About 65 km, roughly an hour on the AP-7. It counts as a short trip for us, so travel adds little to the price.
Can a band play on a terrace with a sea view?
Yes, it is the most common format in Calpe. Wind and evening damp have to be allowed for, and we choose the kit accordingly.
Do you play at private villas?
Yes. The main questions are electricity, access for the van and the noise rules of the area, and we settle them in advance.
Can I book a violinist for a ceremony by the sea?
Yes, and it is one of the most beautiful formats. In the open air we always add sound, otherwise the wind eats it.
Do you play Ukrainian songs?
Yes. The playlist covers world hits, Ukrainian songs and Spanish music.
Do you work in the neighbouring towns?
Yes: Benidorm, Denia, Jávea and the rest of the coast.
Do you speak English?
Yes, we can plan and confirm everything in English, and equally in Spanish, Ukrainian or Russian. Only the presenter differs: Ukrainian and Russian, plus Spanish on request, never English.
