Wedding Band and Live Music in Cartagena
A cover band, violinist or saxophonist for a wedding, birthday or corporate event in Cartagena or on the Mar Menor, with our own sound, lighting and stage. About an hour and a half from Alicante.
If you want a wedding band in Cartagena, Team5 provides a cover band or a solo musician with the full equipment. Cartagena is a port city with three thousand years of history, and its venues are special: panoramic terraces above the harbour, historic buildings and the Mar Menor resort area close by.
Distance from Alicante to Cartagena
The distance is about 110 km, about 80 minutes by the A-7 and A-30. This is a middle zone for us: the crew arrives with a comfortable margin for the set-up, and the road affects the quote noticeably less than the type of venue and the amount of kit.
Cartagena is part of the Region of Murcia, so the same local rules on volume and permits apply as in Murcia, and they differ from those in the Valencian Community.
Harbour terraces and panoramic venues
Cartagena is one of the main ports of the Mediterranean, with a Roman theatre in the middle of town and fortress hills around the harbour. Because of the relief, many locations have a view over the water, and these are the most popular for parties. The best-known example is Cuarentaytrés in the port, a panoramic venue with a 270-degree view.
On locations like these we plan for the following:
- Harbour wind: it never really stops, so we leave a reserve in the sound and secure structures more firmly;
- Damp and salt: equipment near the water needs protection;
- Carrying kit up: on upper floors and terraces that means a lift and several trips, which makes the set-up longer;
- Historic buildings: listed sites can forbid fixings and structures;
- Noise rules: in a residential centre the programme finishes earlier.
In short, the finest venues in Cartagena are the terraces above the harbour. We allow for the wind and the lift in advance, and then everything runs calmly.

The Roman theatre and the old centre
Part of the venues stand in the historic centre, next to the Roman theatre and the fortress walls. It looks spectacular, but it brings limits that are worth knowing early:
- Pedestrian zones, where vehicle access is limited by time and sometimes allowed only in the morning;
- Protected status, which bans fixing structures to walls and facades;
- Homes next door, so the noise rules are stricter than out of town and the programme ends earlier;
- Narrow streets, where a large lorry cannot pass and the kit comes in a smaller vehicle over several trips;
- Permits, which for municipal venues are arranged in advance.
If your venue is in the old centre, name it straight away, and we plan the route and the set-up time separately.
Weddings and events on the Mar Menor
A few dozen kilometres from Cartagena lies the Mar Menor, the largest salt lagoon in Europe, with a resort area around it: La Manga, Los Alcázares and Santiago de la Ribera. There are hotels, clubs and restaurants with venues right on the water. We travel there too, and the specifics are the same as on any coastal location: wind, damp and sound with spare power.
Who we can bring to Cartagena
- Royal Band: international hits, a full programme for the banquet and the dance floor;
- Rock Beat: a rock and pop-rock repertoire;
- A violinist, a saxophonist or a singer, at the vows, during the drinks or over the meal;
- Duo or trio: the sensible option on a terrace where volume is capped;
- Presenter: Ukrainian and Russian are the working languages, Spanish is possible, English is not offered.
If you live in the Region of Murcia and prefer to organise everything in English, that is no problem with us. Clips of live shows are on the cover bands page.
Sound and lighting without a second supplier
For a celebration in Cartagena you will not have to look for equipment separately. We bring our own sound sized to the venue, stage and architectural lighting, microphones for the ceremony and toasts and, if you need them, a stage and a screen. We set up ourselves and the engineer works the whole evening. What the package contains is explained in what a sound and lighting hire contains.
Events we cover
- Weddings, from the ceremony and cocktail hour to dinner, the first dance and the party afterwards;
- Birthdays, milestone ones included;
- Corporate events: Cartagena is an industrial and port city, and company events are regular here;
- Parties for restaurants and clubs on the harbour and the Mar Menor;
- Outdoor events that need a stage and screen as well.
Best time to celebrate
- April to June: warm, with long evenings and the terraces at their best;
- July and August: hot, the resort area is crowded and only an evening programme works;
- September to October: our preferred window;
- November to March: windy by the harbour, so a closed hall is the better choice.
What decides the price in Cartagena
Nobody can give one fair price per evening before seeing the place. The weight falls on who plays (a soloist, a duo or trio, or the whole band), on the amount of kit, on indoor against open-air settings, where the lighting starts from scratch, on the guest count, on the length of the programme and on the power available; if it is short, a generator is added. The drive is 110 km. Share the date, the place and a rough guest count, and a concrete figure follows the same day.
Mistakes to avoid in Cartagena
- Forgetting that the kit has to go up in a lift to an upper floor, which adds hours to the set-up;
- Learning about access hours late: some venues open one hour ahead of the guests, while a full rig needs several;
- Reserving the terrace before the musicians and the equipment are costed;
- Nobody being accountable for the end result, because band and equipment arrive from separate suppliers.
How to book musicians in Cartagena
Write on WhatsApp or call with the date, the venue name, how many guests you expect and the type of event. If the venue is a terrace or an upper floor, say so at once, because it changes the set-up time and the kit. Ahead of the trip we confirm the spare power, the noise limit and the curfew, the earliest set-up time, the vehicle route and unloading point, and the wet-weather plan. For choosing a place, read choosing an event venue.
Our wedding band and corporate events pages cover the rest. We work nearby in Torrevieja and Elche too.
Frequently asked questions
How long is the journey from Alicante to Cartagena?

Do you travel to the Mar Menor?
Yes: La Manga, Los Alcázares, Santiago de la Ribera and the rest of the lagoon’s resort area.

Yes. Expect world hits next to Ukrainian songs and Spanish tracks.
Can I book a violinist or saxophonist alone?
Yes, a single musician can play at the ceremony, as guests arrive or through dinner.
Do you speak English?
