Meet the Team5 crew

The performers have their own page: see the artists page for photos and roles.
Why one crew rather than a mix of suppliers
Couples and companies often hire musicians from one source, speakers from another and a technician from a third, and everyone meets for the first time on the day. In practice faults rarely sit inside one person’s job. They appear in the hand-overs between jobs.
At Team5 the musicians, sound engineer, technical crew and kit are a single team, which changes five things:
- Responsibility sits in one place, so a complaint about the sound never turns into a debate over whose equipment or whose musicians were at fault;
- The musicians already know the mixing desk, so their first set is not spent getting used to unfamiliar kit;
- The sound engineer has listened to this repertoire again and again, and knows when to lift a vocal and when to pull it back;
- A single arrival and a single installation, so the venue admits one crew instead of three at different hours;
- One person to talk to instead of three.
Who is at your event
The crew depends on the format, but the core roles are these:
- Musicians, from a soloist to a full cover band, with a choice of vocalists, players, DJs and three bands;
- A sound engineer who holds the mix steady through the band’s sets, the host‘s announcements and a noisy room;
- A technical crew for installation, cable runs, tuning and take-down after the event;
- A lighting technician at events with complex lighting, who switches scenes to the agreed timing;
- A coordinator who aligns the timings with the venue, the kitchen and the photographer.
How we prepare an event
- We check what the venue can offer: electricity, any volume cap, how early we can start rigging and where the vehicle unloads, with a call to the venue when needed;
- We pick a line-up for the room and the number of guests instead of a standard template;
- We agree the programme and timing a few weeks before the date, together with your host and the kitchen;
- We arrive early so that installation and soundcheck are over before guests walk in;
- We run the sound through the evening, then load everything out.
Your own side of the planning is covered in the event planning checklist.
A team that speaks your guests’ languages
Four languages are covered by the crew, English, Spanish, Ukrainian and Russian, and that matters in practice, because a family celebration in Spain often mixes relatives from abroad, Spanish colleagues and neighbours. A crew that can talk to everyone keeps the evening in one piece instead of splitting it in two.
The province of Alicante has the largest concentration of Ukrainians in Spain, with Torrevieja at its centre, and we play at weddings of that community. Our presenter leads in Ukrainian and Russian, switches to Spanish on request, and is not available in English.
Where the crew works
Alicante is the base, and the crew travels across Spain and to southern France, about 700 km at most. Elche (25 km) and Benidorm (45 km) lie nearest, while Madrid at 420 km means an overnight stay for the whole crew. Every city, with local notes, is on the cities page.
Who handles what
We handle the choice of line-up, every piece of equipment and its installation, the venue check, the soundcheck, a sound engineer for the whole event, the timing, and then dismantling and removal. A generator travels with us when power is short, and where a large vehicle cannot enter, a smaller van makes several runs.
You handle the venue booking, catering, the photographer and the list of must-play songs. Decoration and video can come through our partners. We tell you which questions to put to the venue, though you sign that contract yourself. Examples of finished jobs are in the gallery.
From enquiry to take-down
- Message us the date, city, venue, type of event and an approximate guest count;
- Availability and a price reach you from us on the same day;
- The venue’s conditions are confirmed;
- Once terms are agreed, your date is reserved;
- Some weeks before, we finalise programme, playlist, must-play songs and timings with you;
- On the day the crew arrives early, installs and does the soundcheck before the guests;
- At the end everything is packed and taken away, leaving you nothing to tidy.
Whether the team has your evening free is something we check when you write.
Mistakes we see at events
Years of work leave a list of situations that repeat from party to party, and almost all of them can be fixed beforehand:
- Booking the venue before anyone has checked power, volume limiters or a room that is only free an hour before the guests;
- Paying the venue deposit and pricing the musicians and kit only afterwards;
- Not matching the timing with the kitchen, so the main course lands during the first dance;
- Having no rain plan, although rain does come in season;
- Bringing a video greeting on the day, on a USB stick, in vertical format, when it is too late to edit;
- Letting your suppliers stay strangers until they meet at the venue.
Questions to put to a venue are in our guide to choosing an event venue.
When something goes off plan
Something unplanned turns up at every live party, and our job is to make sure guests never notice:
- Short of power: a generator, allowed for in the quote in advance;
- A truck that is too large: a smaller vehicle, several trips and extra time for installation;
- A microphone dies: there is always a spare in the kit;
- A volume limit: we rework the kit and the line-up to fit it;
- Rain: the equipment is protected and the programme moves to the agreed fallback.
Frequently asked questions
Can I meet the team in person?
In Alicante, yes, because that is where we are based. We can even look at the venue together before you pay a deposit.
Who is responsible for the sound if something goes wrong?
We are. The musicians and the equipment come from one team, so the final sound always has an owner.
Can we plan the event in English?
Absolutely. The crew handles English, Spanish, Ukrainian and Russian, and the only restriction concerns the presenter, who works in Ukrainian and Russian, adding Spanish when needed.
How many people come to an event?
It depends on the format: from one musician with a compact kit to a full crew with a band, a lighting technician and a sound engineer.
How do I book the team for my date?
Tell us the date and the place of the party. We check it against the diary and reply.
